Price - Price is always a big concern.  A well designed and thought out project should not have many surprises!  Price is determined by many variables including square foot size of the home, design, amenities, etc.  Log homes are much more difficult to construct than conventional or “log style” homes (log trim/siding) due to the size of the logs, the forming of log walls and the difficult ceiling structures with log purlins.  Based on 2002 construction prices, price estimates for standard 2,000 square foot log home can be as low as $150 and as high as $250 per square foot.
